The main barrier for energy use reduction in the Graphic Media Industry is that energy is not visible and not a serious subject of the policy of SME’s. The main objective of the action is to remove barriers to energy efficiency improvement in the Graphic Media Industry by making energy use and costs visible and promoting reduction of energy end use and costs of SME’s. The innovative approach of the action is to make energy use visible through combination of tailored awareness campaign, development and application of a new set of direct tools and measures development of voluntary agreements with SME’s, preparation and use of tools (benchmark) for including in action plans and energy management systems, directed to energy consumption reduction, through capacity building and training industry companies by experts and through financial benchmarks. Results will be disseminated during national workshops and the European conference. The project aims to contribute to achieving the Kyoto commitments, to reduce energy consumption in the Graphic Media Industry to stay competitive (energy end use reduction goal is 10 % each year). Energy will be a visible and serious item on the management agenda again.
